RFK Jr. To Conduct Research Into Autism, Fear-Mongering Media Responds

Looking at the news today, you might see a plethora of articles with headlines all ringing alarm bells over RFK Jr. creating a "autism registry."
But what should really be ringing alarm bells is the dramatic rise of autism in the United States over the last few decades.
“The autism epidemic is running rampant,” says U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “One in 31 American children born in 2014 are disabled by autism. That’s up significantly from two years earlier and nearly five times higher than when the CDC first started running autism surveys in children born in 1992. Prevalence for boys is an astounding 1 in 20 and in California it’s 1 in 12.5.”
RFK Jr continued, saying “President Trump has tasked me with identifying the root causes of the childhood chronic disease epidemic -- including autism,” Secretary Kennedy continued. “We are assembling teams of world-class scientists to focus research on the origins of the epidemic, and we expect to begin to have answers by September.”
While "autism registry" is the scary term being parroted in the media, it seems like an obvious scare tactic, especially in light of partisan nature of today's mainstream media.
"Autism registry" conjures up images of a shadowy government entity demanding your personal information so they can monitor and track children with autism - for what sinister purposes, one could only guess.
What is actually happening is RFK is trying to conduct research into the potential causes of autism in our country so that we can solve the problem.
And while I'm opposed to over-reaching government and invasion of privacy, it seems to me that most reasonable people would want to find out the cause and remedy the problem - and be willing to offer personal information in order to do so.
What is especially jaw-dropping is that the people trying to scare you over an "autism registry" and your privacy being invaded are the same people who wanted to scare and bully ordinary citizens into getting COVID shots and boosters.
The irony is rich.
They don't care about your privacy. They just want you scared, so you do what they want.
The government isn't going to come after your kids and exterminate them like mutants from the X-Men universe.
But with the tone being set by many articles in the news media, you'd almost think Trump would be sending sentinels out to hunt down poor autistic children all over the nation and exterminate them. For the purity of the nation, of course.
I can see an autistic version of the X-Men forming now to fight just such an injustice!
Maybe one of them will be like Banshee, who has a super-sonic scream. Except this one will just have headphones on and scream, and scream, and scream until people can't take it anymore.
Maybe that jest sounds a little mean - but it highlights the graveness of the problem facing our society.
I consider myself lucky to have kids that don't have any disabilities, but I know a number of parents who have kids with autism. It seems like most of us do, these days. Some of the symptoms are mild, others are severe.
And the parents are broken over it.
Maybe you're one of them.
And it is, actually, no joke.
Something has to be done. We can't go on like this.
Children and families are suffering and lives are being destroyed.
We have to figure out what is going on.
If anyone has any other bright ideas about how to do that, I'm all ears.
If we can do it in a way that protects privacy, even better.
But whatever we do, we've got to do what it takes, and I think that's something probably most can agree on.
