DOGE Floats Audit of U.S. Gold Reserves, Controversy Ensues

By the way…..where’s our gold?
In an announcement that is causing a great deal of controversy, speculation and perhaps even panic, Elon Musk suggested that DOGE audit the United States’ gold reserves and find out once and for all - is it really in Fort Knox?
The thoughts of it possibly being empty, hidden somewhere else, or having less (or maybe more) than claimed is stirring the pot and drawing attention from all over the world, as surely exactly how much gold is possessed by the United States is something of interest to all nations.
The current financial system governed by the Federal Reserve has a U.S. dollar that is backed by nothing more than belief in its value, a stark contrast to the past standard of being based on our quantity (and value) of gold.
This is extremely convenient for those in government who love to spend money, as if the dollar isn’t based on any kind of limited resource - money can keep being printed forever and the government can spend and spend - ad infinitum.
And inflation can continue to sky-rocket forever, too, making the bang for your buck more like a whimper.
But hey, what do our corrupt politicians care so long as their pockets are lined with green?
There has also been some rumor that President Trump may attempt to return the dollar to the gold standard, giving it stability once again.
But there’s just one problem: our debt is vastly larger than the amount of gold we have officially said we have, and if we return to the gold standard - we won’t have the money to even pay for it.
But some speculate Trump could either simply declare we will only pay half the debt (potentially risky) or that we could declare a new dollar value to the gold we have - which would then make it “worth” more. This is another potentially risky move, but it would certainly cause those who have already invested in gold personally to bring home an amazing financial return.
Interestingly, perhaps the desire to acquire Greenland may have something to do with all of this - as Greenland is said to have vast deposits of gold just waiting to be mined.
At any rate, it’s not even been a month into Trump’s second term and changes and shake-ups are happening at a whirlwind pace, with the impacts being potentially “hyuge.”
But when the world gets turned upside down, attempting to turn it right-side up again can be just as dramatic.
